Over the last four months I have learned a lot from this course. Having to think about how to do history rather than analysing the history event itself opened the door to asking more in depth questions to be able to write the papers we needed to write. This course helped me read faster but still slowing down to analysis what the content of the reading was about and what the author was trying to convey in their writing. Learning to write in this way and think like this I think helped improve the way I was writing my history papers. With my course load this semester this history class didn’t tie in too much to my other courses to really be able to compare what I’ve learned in history and take it into other course, but when I was in classes at TRU right after highschool this history class would have helped a lot with my english course since we had to focus on asking good questions to be able to write our papers. One thing that this class does compare to for me is day to day life. Thinking about what was around me before I was around helping me get a new perspective of the world around me and appreciate it, doing my own research on the various topic given throughout the to learn more about each topic. This course has giving me the right amount of challenge to push me without overwhelming me.
